Today I ran into some people at a smoke spot with my friends. I was wearing a good old war shirt and a girl recognized it. She goes on to tell me that she and her sister sang on good old war’s song “stay by my side” and that they are good friends with them. Such a small world.

Train Station

As I walked back to my dorm after working on a project I looked towards 30th Street Station and an interesting stream of thoughts passed through my mind. I watched a train go and wondered why I wasn’t on it. The more I thought about it the more I wondered. What keeps people in the same place for months, even years at a time. There are so many social norms and standards that suggest that people should settle down in one place, work a job that they could potentially keep for years doing the same thing over and over. Society has become so structured and accustomed to this idea that being truly free and spontaneous is frowned upon. I feel like at some point in my life I’m going to travel and experience a little more of the world before I finally settle down. It may not be hopping a train one day, it may be touring with a band, but it’s something that needs to happen.

Oh to live on sugar mountain

I really wish this bass didn’t end up stolen a month or so later… it still really bothers me that someone would just take a guitar like that. A friend gave me this guitar and I customized it a bit, so it meant more than just a dollar value. They probably sold it for drugs or something along those lines cause anyone making meaningful music who cares about their band/art wouldn’t need to steal someone’s guitar. I hope he/she got mugged afterwards and eventually it fell into the hands of someone deserving. If I ever see this person, with this bass, and they prove they are in the fact the one who originally stole it, they may be the first person I ever punch in my life.

Thrice performed at The Electric Factory on October 13th with support from Moving Mountains, O’Brother and La Dispute. The three openers delivered powerful performances that geared the crowd up for the main act.

Thrice took the stage and delivered…

It’s been a great run. I’m going to miss it next year.

Thank you Nick, Petey and Zach

I just had to say bye to one of my closest friends. She’s a really awesome person with a really awesome music taste. We’ve always been there for each other. I’ve had the pleasure of being good friends with her for a bit more then 2 years. I’m glad I got the chance to befriend her. She is one of the smartest people I know and you will be greatly missed.

Being the last person to leave for college is weird. They are all leaving one by one.
